Just seen this clip on BBC archives. I don’t think they do it these days - probably elf 'n' safety and food standards would make it cost prohibited.

We used to live in a hole in t'ground, covered wi' tarpaulin; eat an 'andful o' cold gravel f'r bre'kfust then ask mill owner f'r permission to go to wo'k - but we wuz 'appy!...'til council filled in t'ole :cry:

Didn’t read it all but none of those are directly carried out by the council in council grow centres staffed with council employees and passed on to council care homes, are they?
