Has Truss resigned yet?

I dunno, people moaned when the budget came out saying all those things shouldn’t have been done so she reversed them and……they moaned that she reversed it! Of course, I am referring to those that have never admitted to a mistake and reversed it in their lives and carry on bull-headed whenever they have made a wrong decision.

Yeah, John Crace has come up with a few for her; Lithium Liz is another along those lines.
It's too easy. Almost takes the sport out of it, really.

Of course, "everyone makes mistakes" but those two had ten years of planning for their ideas and chose exactly the wrong moment to put them in place. So 'Tin-eared Liz' is another title that sticks.

How much market chaos did the mini-budget cause?

More than enough, wouldn't you say?

I'm down to be Chancellor of the Exchequer on 27th October between 10:00 and 14:00. However it clashes with a hospital appointment so would anyone like to swap?
Sorry JohnD, I did have a spot free one afternoon this week, and I offered my services.
No-one responded, (a Number 10 spokesperson said they couldn't find her), and I'm busy now.

Blimey with her back up against the wall

And she is hanging in there

Good old no surrender Dunkirk spirit standing up to these back stabbing fruit cakes

Makes one proud to be a Brit
Just like Boris, and May.
Which absolutely proves they're there for their own interest. (that'll confuse the poor spellers :ROFLMAO: )
It's better for the Tory party, it's better for the country, it's better for all if she resigns peacefully, but no, she's hanging on in there, by her fingernails against all better interests and judgements.
The party, number 10, the country and the markets are all concerned with what the heck happens next.
Why doesn't she do the honourable thing and go (for all the good she has done).

There are some professions when mistakes can have catastrophic consequences.
As an ex-mechanic I'm sure you are aware of some mechanical mistakes that could be catastrophic.
Car mechanics is not a highly paid, highly qualified profession, but lives are on the line. A mistake is sometimes unforgiveable due to the consequences. Liz Truss being PM and her mini budget is one such example.

The party system is supposed to appoint the most able. It showed how disastrously it failed this time. That wasn't the first time, Boris was also a massive mistake. That's a systemic failure of the Tory Party election process and needs changing.
To use that system again without modifications would illustrate that the Tories do not learn from their mistakes.
To appoint one daft PM can be careless, to appoint two in succession is unforgivable. (apologies to Oscar Wilde)

There are mistakes. And there is downright obvious wrong doing.

Mistakes are due an apology. This action needs more than that.

Its almost as though the new chancellor has been made the new PM just without the title.

The country needs honesty not an apology

So, would you rather she carried on with policy one or swapped to policy two?

That's like asking if the nurse should be allowed to carry on as she is, or some other process is adopted.
The answer of course, is maybe she should never have been put in that position in the first place!

If a mechanic was used to a way of working which you and loads of others thought was dangerous, should they be allowed to continue, or should they adopt a different procedure. Of course they should do things differently, but the ridicule of their previous practices does not suddenly end, it continues!

You claimed that people are moaning before and moaning again. That's a misrepresentation, they moaned before, and now they're continuing to mock the previous decisions, the instability caused, and the dithering of what to do next. That's the reality.
