Hi

I've got a Main Combi 30 Eco which currently has a termistat salus rt501RF with a Salus RXBC605 Plug-in Receiver fitted to its fascia , Im now looking at fitting a Hive active heating v3 system to it ( heating only model )

I have followed previous forums by disconnecting the yellow link wire between BK1 and BK2 on the combi boiler and wired a 5 core from the combi boiler to the hive receiver with the terminations being

BOILER - HIVE

Perm Live - L on Hive

Perm Neutral - N on Hive

BK1 Switched Live In - Heating On (3) on Hive

BK2 : 230v live out - common (1) on Hive

Once I did this and set up the hive thermostat and got everything linked together I tried to turn the heating on with the hive thermostat, when doing so I got a got a green light on the hive receiver and heard the click but it didn’t fire the heating on the boiler

Is they something I am doing wrong or have missed out on?

There's been a thread here before:

Because your Salus receiver is currently controlling the boiler, it needs to be bypassed.
One solution was to connect the new stat to the wiring of the Salus and put the yellow link back.
Or, the un-tested idea was to bridge the connections of 3 and 4 in the Salus, and see if that allows the new stat to work.

you need to switch the salus receiver to manually on and leave it set at that and the hive will then control the heating
Yes, I forgot, that was the other suggestion from Chris on the old thread
Either trace the wiring back and disconnect or leave on manual override (if this is an option).
...but I don't think that poster quite understood what we were on about :)

Okay I will try that, sounds a silly question but how to connect a flex onto a spade terminal on back of salus Receiver?

I’ve just got round to looking at this and I’ve flicked it over to manual like you said but it’s still not working on the hive thermostat, the heating only kicks in when I use my existing thermostat

just move the little slider on the reciver over to the black circle and leave it there

It’s a wireless one so I took the batteries out of it to turn it off but still the hive don’t fire up the boiler
Just powering off the thermostat wont work, you need to link the common to NO in the receiver or in the wiring centre.
