You could say that, kinda like how a writer embellishes things for effect.
Yes, although it brings the topic of religion back to the OP with regard to gender.

"Our Father who art..." has been the way to regard God for two millennia and while this realignment in gender perception has momentum could it lead to a transformation in the way God is perceived?

Yes, it says so in the bible.

Probably. Very few people follow the bible anyway, just pick and choose the bits you like and ignore the bits you don't.

The free market neoliberalism of the last 12 years has seen wages stagnate, massive increase in poverty….yet at the same time a massive increase in wealth and income of the highest earners.

So your claim most people get wealthier isn’t true
Trickle down economics is a public relations euphemism for 'crumbs off the rich mans table'.
Capitalism can generate wealth but there is nothing in the rules that says that wealth has to be shared fairly.

You think this is fallacy; people should follow all teachings in the Bible, despite so many contradictions?

The bible is the most popular book in the world.
Where else would you get 66 books for the price of one.

Not at all, I don't believe it was written/inspired by a supernatural being in the first place. I've already said that it is barbaric in places and was clearly written for a specific time and place, IMHO. A perfect God could would have foreseen the problems with it, but either wasn't aware or choose to ignore them anyway.

Yes, a more realistic view

Capitalism can generate wealth but there is nothing in the rules that says that wealth has to be shared fairly
The problem with capitalism is that those who get rich from it then use their money to influence govt policy.

And on the other side of the coin, Unions get rich and powerful and do the same thing (justified at the moment)

The flip side used to command the masses is always fear and that has been the predominant emotion governing Western policy
Chrichon has a bit of a comment about that, A preface in one of his books. A feature of western life not just towards Islamic aspects.., A form of population control as it's put over, if I remember correctly. In some ways it's a bit of an exaggeration and a better word would be concern. It's dished out by media and politicians all of the time. Ok but it can result in polarised opinions and lack of perspective. It influences people. It varies. For instance we hear about stabbings, Few go about worrying about being stabbed but many may be concerned that it happens and is increasing, Racial aspects have always resulted in polarised views. Unpolarising them is likely to be tricky.

When I went to Turkey the guide was a historian. He commented on using a god as justification for killing people, Christianity and others have done similar, Reward - heaven, Given history it's not surprising that religion leaves scope for this. I added a another, the religious don't does. The one I chose was breeding within a family. Not doing it is good for us as it results in genetic defects, Certain things are more likely than others to cause problems in a "tribe" so don't do them. Islam and Christianity have been at war in the past. Is this why the religions are different. My god better than yours. Dress code, Does it relate to climate or is there a mix or more of an attractiveness of women aspect to it.

Really? Another way of looking at it is that business really rules the world. It does what it does for profit, That is what capitalism is about. Communism was different, The whole thing is managed. Now it's much like the west really except there is some state owned ;) however hang on a minute there is also some within the west.

Take the semi cold war attitude to China. It's different politics, taboo, Influence and wealth growing but what is business doing

Foreign direct investment into China rose 14.4% year-on-year to CNY 1.09 trillion (USD 168.34 billion) in the first ten months of the year, China’s commerce ministry data showed. FDI into the services industry rose 4.8% to CNY 798.84 billion, while that of high-tech industries surged by 31.7%. Increases were seen in FDI from Korea (106.2%), Germany (95.8%), UK (40.1%) and Japan (36.8%). Meanwhile, non-financial outbound direct investment (ODI) rose 10.3% to CNY 627.4 billion. source: Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic

Exodus 21 is the main culprit.

New Testament, Ephesians 6:5 and 1 Timothy 6:1.

The main man could have clarified it easily. But he didn't.

But Exodus is not actually Christianity.

I am thinking here of Matthew 22:36–40

And Luke 10.29ff

I gather you're not reading KJV. I see no mention of slavery.

"Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ;"

"Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed."

But Exodus is not actually Christianity.
Half the bible can be discarded straight away? Jesus never thought that, he quoted it often enough.

I gather you're not reading KJV
You'll find any argument you like in any of the multitude of bibles. Strange that God couldn't even get a single message out without all the holes and contradictions. Surely he/she knew what would happen?

One of the problems with Religions is their tendency to make stuff up and then insist it's the absolute truth and they should kill you if you disagree.
