Fair go I'd forgotten they made it a condition of employment for some. Those folks were the minimum wage end though. I was dealing with my mothers' care workers at the time - they all wanted the jabs. A high proportion of them took the job instead of things like shelf-filling in supermarkets - same pay. The job adverts at the time made the comparison. The traning was about 2 days watching someone else change nappies. . With all due respect ( ie not much) they aren't the sort of people I'd look to for medical judgement.

I asked a couple of hospital nurses if they had to have it, way back. They denied it, but they were first in the queue anyway.

There was huge pressure on people to take the vaccine, whether it was by the illegal threats to NHS and care workers or from peer pressure in other workplaces; and then there was the fact that you couldn't and still cannot travel to certain countries with having had the vaccines. (That last was the main reason why many took it).

So, it is very disingenuous of anyone to say that the vaccine wasn't compulsory, or that people weren't forced into it etc. One commenter on Daily Mail report about Lisa Shaw said "No-one forced her to have it".

Such dishonesty does the pro-vaxxers no favours.

No, if I recall the Govt backtracked on the threat for fear of staff shortages. But that doesn't nullify the fact that some on here deny the threat ever existed. It also doesn't nullify the fact that a significant number of 'medical professionals' were prepared to lose their jobs rather than be vaccinated.
