An excellent article in Australian Spectator from Paul Mason. It's a couple of days old now, but still,very topical and relevant.
It's worth a read, but it might be a tad too long for many. Because I've presented it does not necessarily mean I agree with all of his sentiments.

A heavily militarised DMZ with a police state at one end and an Islamic Republic at the other, perhaps.

Indeed im struggling to remember now it was either Space 1999 or Star Trek where this entity fed off everyone's hate, as soon as they all clubbed together and shared reefer (or whatever they did in the 70's to chillax) it ceased to exist!
