Gaza strip does have some strategic maritime benefits, if Israel clears it of Palestinians then they could build a canal from Eilat to the Med and rival the Suez Canal and create another shipping lane.

It's completely wrong as I've said before. But. it is all too easy for Israel to claim they are waging war with people who want to destroy them and justify any of their actions because of it.

Until the extermination aim goes, Israel have every excuse to do what they do.

Israel won't be sharing - it has no need - just take the land and make a shipping lane.

The real question is what to do with the Palestinians in the strip. Push them into Sinai or dump them in the West Bank.
