Morning all

Installed a Hive at my dads, the issue I’m having is HW is permanently on. I can turn HW off via app but it switches back on.

I have removed the BDR and the grey from terminal 2 is looped to the live going to the stat.. I believe this is where my issue is?

Another slight issue is the fact the old room stat is within a wall what is plastered so I could do without digging that out

Believe it is Y Plan. HW cylinder, tanks in loft

Any advice is much appreciated

Sorry, I'm confused - is the backplate you show from the now removed LP241?
If so, have any changes been made to the wiring there?
The Hive would be a direct replacement for the Drayton.
There would be no need to 'Install' a Hive, you just drop it onto the existing backplate.
You would then just need to bridge out the existing stat.
Do you have photos from before you started changing the wiring?

Thanks for the reply

Yes the back plate is from the LP241, no wiring has been changed there.

See the pic for before the BDR was taken out. Bare in mind terminal 1 and 11 have a cable less as I was tidying up the wiring but they are back in position

Ok, was the LP241 single channel or dual channel?
As there are only connections to pins 1 and 3 on the backplate, if this is a dual channel LP241, it would only have controlled the hot water and not the heating?

I believe dual channel?

The wireless stat used to control the heating and they always had hot water..

Yes I did buddy.
Didn’t change anything in the backplate.

I’ve just reconnect BDR and put Drayton back on its working fine. Do I need to bridge out the stat?

My mum just wants a fancy wireless stat!

Brilliant, everything still works.
Now, you should be able to slot in the dual channel Hive, in place of the Drayton and it should only control the Hot water.
If that works, we can then look at transferring the heating to the Hive.

Hot water is working mate, sorry for delay had to re-pair hive
Good! :)

Could we have a new top-down view of the wiring centre, now that everything's working.

And could you confirm where these cables lead to?
The top is to the Hive back plate, but the other two?

Right goes to stat
Centre goes to cylinder stat
Left goes to grundfos pump

Ok,

Move this black wire to terminal 4 on the Hive back plate...

And connect this black wire to terminal 2 in the wiring centre (the cable may need to be extended using the connection block)...

Remove the BDR cable completely, and see what happens!

I’m 99% sure it’s working.

Grinch you are a legend, could you ping over your PayPal email
Brilliant :)
Well done, and don't be silly!
You were nearly there to begin with, but explaining something remotely over t'internet, sometimes means starting again from scratch.
I hope your parents enjoy the Hive! :)

All I needed was to move the black cable and I was done! Haha least it’s done

No honestly buddy least I can do is get you a drink!?
