Do you agree though that politicians are not in place because of their specialist knowledge
Yes I do agree.
I think everyone of them should be voted into each role by the country regardless of their political colours. I don't care what colour rosette they have pinned on just so long as they are the best person for the job.

It would take a lot to catch up with the Bra Baroness.

It's great to see the Tories so frightened of their approaching wipeout that they are scurrying around trying to find stories to frighten the children.

I haven't seen such manufactured outrage since they piled onto Corbyn for saying the railways could do with improvement.

Nobody denies it now.

Best person for the job? And how do you think that is calculated.

Its tribal. Vote for x you get y because of his or her support for the PM. Vote for different party you get the same thing but a different person.

Ps, tell gas how it works. He thinks it's all down to a politicians skills at numbers

"Diane Abbott MP, made history as the first black woman elected to parliament in 1987."

Diane Abbott – The first black woman to be elected to the House of Commons.

First black female MP notch, not the first black MP.

The year she was elected there was 2 others at least. Paul Boateng and Bernie Grant for example

In my world they will put themselves forward as candidate along with their CV.
Great. Should PM do that as well ?

Not going to work whilst we have fptp system in place.

Vote for everyone by their CV? So those with the best upbringing and access to the best systems (born rich) will have the best CV and the class system deepens for ever. Let's just have a 1 party system then.

Back on topic if the council doesn't review the electoral registration address issue, and hmr c aren't interested in the cg t position, starmy is able to call this all smears. He has her personal assurance that all was above board. If she breaches that trust she will be out, on that basis and that basis alone. AR seems more likely to have made a mistake imo than the ex chancellor who set up a complex international tax avoidance scheme. However hmr c have accepted that neither acted dishonestly so that should be that.

Sir K, seems to be distancing himself from the "advice" she took. He's confident she did nothing wrong, but has stated categorically that he has not seen or examined the advice or evidence.

A smart lawyer old Kier... Most would take a look, unless they were certain it was damaging, in which case better not to touch it, in case it leaves a nasty stench.

I think this one has run its course. It will be interesting to see if fag ash lil is so gobby about the next tax scandal.

I don't know why you think it has run its course. It seems like the main line of attack for the Tories.

This could all help Starmer long term with his AR problem.

Probably what a lot of it is about.

Trying to keep other tax and payment issues out of sight.

I wonder why that might be

My architect always emails me when corresponding - unless of course it involves anything that 'requires clarification' - then he phones me.
At least he bothers to check if what he is designing can be built.
