Went a few years ago , when the lone piper plays on the battlements at the end youv;e got a tear in your eye and a lump in your throat, far better than paying a fortune to wathch those two t##ts from manchester
 
The Tattoo is far better live than watching it on the tele has cracking seat right in the middle .
The whole fringe etc is cracking entertainment at a reasonable price done it several times averaging about 8 shows a day

Edinburgh is a fantastic city, aprt from the royal mile and its maddening crowds. Only worth walking through on a dark wet winters day when the streets are empty and the high old tenements are dark and foreboding.
 
Thought it was a bit crap on telly, the whole traditional music element seemed to be lost in modern music and acts from around the world.
yep totally agree that was my attitude used to fast forward the non scottish parts of it , but live it is so much better to watch
