How to make holes in plastic boxes?

Well the drill must have been 8mm I guess... I had to nudge around while drilling to make the hole bigger.
That's why it looks a big mess in the holes

Lots of cable tidies already exist and a lot smarter looking and convenient than an ugly plastic box full of holes.
Doubtful you could give those away .

OK so no one else has asked, why the hell are you using that type of plastic box for electrical connections?
They have an absolutly zero fire rating, proper boxes have self extinguishing additives to ensure the box does not set on fire.
I hope to god that your not charging anyone for this lash up, the insurance company will have a hissy fit at the use of unsuitable equipment.

If you really have to be a cheapskate, then I'd go for the stepped drill option myself, and use nylon glands rather than leave gaping holes for little creatures to crawl into (and cause a fire when they make a nest).

only 8mm ??? i thought they where large boxes and the holes where perhaps 35mm
so clamping wont work
sorry about any confusion i may have caused:mad:

No, the wooden drill bit is one of these:

I'm guessing this is what caused the plastic to get mangled up as shown in my original pic and why I didn't get a cleaner hole.

I'm trying to make a cable tidy box for mobile phones.
I want to just add something in the middle from charger to phone so I reduce the big tangle of wires.

I thought it would be a great item to sell.
Buy small plastic boxes and drill holes in. :)
Super useful I think.

THIS WHAT YOU ARE AIMING AT?

THIS WHAT YOU ARE AIMING AT?
That looks pretty cool :)
I have about 4 or 5 devices needing charging - say 3 phones and 2 power banks.
The amount of wires make it a big massive mess.

You guys are so skeptical!
Fire rating... I never gave it any thought.
It's just mobile phone cables. The box is 16cm x 5cm x 4cm. It's only for cables to pass through. Not sure why I would need to worry about making fireproof?

"Kitbox 40W 8-port USB Charger supports to charge simultaneously multiple smart devices at high speed."

That's a lie.

"kitbox multi usb power supply can recognize any device and automatically detects and delivers the optimal charging current for any connected device"

That's a lie.

"provide the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps per port"

2.4A is the fastest possible charge?

I don't think so.

Did you do any product research?

Foxhole is spot on

There are, literally, hundreds on Amazon. Go and see what they look like.

No, just realistic. Seriously - even if those holes were absolutely perfect you'd have no chance selling those boxes. Any money you spent buying them and any time you spent making the holes would be wasted.

So it doesn't have a socket strip with all the chargers inside?

The chargers are plugged into normal sockets on the wall (presumably several close together), the cables from them go into the box, and then come out of the box and go to the devices?

What's the point?

Do you have a smartphone? On mine I hit the camera icon above the writing box and it asks me if I want to take a new one or use one out of the phone's memory, then uploads it job done..

just noticed your reply --thank you i have to do something dozens off times in a row for it to register in my brain then frequently for a a month or so to have any chance ----i have been coached hundreds off times to get to post a picture by various people but to no avail as its a subject my brain looses interest in so ignores
in the late 60s when i was at school autism and other unusual traits did not exist -- so i am not autistic or afflicted by unusual traits ---i will take no time in apologizing for my own thoughts that say i think iam different and a bit to a lot different to the average but in a good way yes i think i can be very frustrating with my post but fully honest --ment to be fully helpfull -- the world is a far better place when we accept the joys off the differences in people :giggle:
