It doesn’t matter how abhorrent the crime, what matters is that our criminal justice system makes judgements based on evidence.

I have no problem saying what I think:

There are some abhorrent disgusting barbaric practices that are prevalent in certain countries like Pakistan, India, Egypt etc…..and some of those come across to the U.K. by a tiny % of people in those communities.

FGM, abuse of women, arranged marriages etc are not acceptable and we have to work with those communities to prevent it happening.

As far as I know only only person in U.K. has ever been jailed for FGM….that’s not good enough.



But this case is about whether the criminal justice system functioned as it should
