Hi,

I’ve got an ideal logic 35 approx 14 years old

Only owned the house for 3 years, it’s 2 bedroom total of 7 rads. 3 of which are medium. 2 small. 1 tiny. 1 large in the living room

it had a new pump last year fitted by ideal : pump ( Ideal 182357 ) replaced ( 96878772 ) engineer set pump speed to max

Now all radiators apart from the living room get fully hot ( the bottom stays cool on the living room rad ) but the only way I can get the living room rad to be hot to touch all over is by putting the flow temp to max?

Also have a myson kick space heater that only ever comes on if I put the flow temp high

I’ve put cleaner through the system and flushed previously and also had the radiator off recently to flush it with a hose, I had some gunk come out but nothing excessive

Any ideas? Thanks

Turn all other radiators off and leave this one on and see if it gets hot.

Or increase the flow to the radiator through the lockshield valve. It's probably turned down.

Did turn them all off, it does get hot throughout the whole rad but slower than the others but I guess that’s because it’s a bigger radiator.

The lockshield valve is fully open

bottom stays warm what about the top ?
Sorry I realised it was worded wrong. All rads are fine apart form the living room ( larger rad ) which stays cool at the bottom apart from when I had the boiler flow set to max,

If I have it on eco the bottom stays cool but the top gets up to temp

Was the problem there before you moved in?

Or did it occur when the new pump was fitted?

Im not 100% if it was like it when I first moved in, however I’m sure it was the same before the new pump

Have you tried balancing the system, or altering the other rad lockshields?

you may well have a blockage within the plastic pipe which isnt unusual
When I had the valves off the radiator I opened it up and seems to flow ok, what’s the best way of trying to unblock? A cleaner?
