Wiring up 2 way light switch

Was post 8 sparkwright, which mentions there should never be a case where all three are live.

There should never be a case where all three terminals are live at the same time, so I suspect the neon light wires are in the wrong terminals.

The wires are all live when the light is on - i.e. 230V to N or E (as they are all technically all termed as live wires).

There might be some confusion because your wiring looks like what is called the conventional method for two-way lighting whereas it must in fact be the conversion method with the supply permanent live and switched live connected somewhere along the cable route.

It is like this where the supply permanent live and switched live are connected at one of the switches,
where red is the current path and orange is an unused consequent live.

I have just noticed the picture in post number three so I think you might have wired the new switch incorrectly but I will leave what I wrote above as it will still apply when wired properly.

Thanks
Post 3 picture is the other switch,I haven’t altered any of that,I just removed to confirm yellow was in the common terminal.
I’ve wired the new one as yellow to common, permanent live to L1 and switched live to L2 as per Sunray diagram, both switches turn the lights on and off from either end.
Not sure how else I can wire it,as mentioned it shouldn’t matter which way round L1 and L2 are.
Any advice always welcome.

What is the problem, then?

It doesn't.

CORRECTION - there would be cases where all three terminals of a two way switch would be live. Didn't think it through.
