Why is Trump so keen on Putin

So if you read carefully what I have said, you will see my position on this. I am not in any way condoning what Putin has done or is doing, what I am saying is that it is understandable. We in the west have to accept part blame in this by provoking the bear. We have been sticking it to Russia for decades, we have excluded them at every opportunity from NATO membership to when the Warsaw Pact was dissolved.
I didn't realise Russia ever wanted NATO membership?

Yes I read that article and others by Gunderson, it doesn’t prove what you claim…..which shows you’ve not read it :ROFLMAO:

Here is the full text of the

Declaration of State Sovereignty of Ukraine

And here is the Budapest memorandum:

Once you’ve read those and actually have some knowledge, you just might be able to debate sensibly.
The Ukrainian SSR solemnly declares its intention of becoming a permanently neutral state that does not participate in military blocs and adheres to three nuclear free principles: to accept, to produce and to purchase no nuclear weapons.

Educate yourself on the subject then
Exactly, why jump in on threads on a subject that you don't understand. But yet call others who o understand. It is a blatant "out for an argument" senario

Just watched this right through, although I do not like this man, he is actually speaking some home truths. A great video to watch.
A disturbing video to watch. He is taking the alt right line which is that Russsia isn't a threat to American interests so sod everybody else. Don't forget we're British not American. Same language different politics.

I agree it is most disturbing considering our special relationship that we once held, Trump was always going to destroy this and is no surprise at his stance. However if we step up our military spending rather than cutting it as we have been doing then this is a good thing. We have 100% relied upon the U.S as far as NATO goes.

Crimea is majority Russian and was ceded to Ukraine by the Russians for administrative purposes in the 1950s, which wasn't a problem as Ukraine and Russia were part of the same Union.
it was never intended to be part of an independent Ukraine.
Ceded in the same way East Germany and other sovereign countries were after WW2? It is legally part of Ukrane, and was kept part it as part of the end of the cold war arrangements. .
