That’s the cables from the wiring centre to a simple light switch on the wall adjacent to the boiler
Then the 5 core to the boiler

That’s the boiler switch! Yikes, starting to think it could still be a wiring issue then. A boiler should be via a fused switch or removable plug.

Yes, front cover to be removed, then access the pcb via the drop down panel

After the discovery of the cables going to the boiler with just the live being switched
I decided to open up the boiler to see how these cables were connected and was there a link left in??
After seeing the set up (see attached photos) I’m beginning to think it may well be the three port valve resistors or motor??

No link was left in. Either motorised valve failure or wiring fault, probably the former.
