The victory (For Dems) in Wisconsin matters a great deal. The Republican nominee should have won hands down, given the fact that Trump won there easily and the amount of financial backing he received.

The win there for the Dems was as startling as it was revealing, giving a stark reminder of just how unpopular Trump has become since he came to power.

There are so many issues. But is Trump correct on perhaps the biggest one. Have forty plus years of globalisation, off shoring and free trade been a massive mistake. Should we have an economy based more on manufacturing and less on services. Would the country be happier with a substantially smaller GDP and/or a substantially higher cost of living, but with a fairer spread of income and wealth. Would the West be safer and happier if China had been kept impoverished.

Trump contradicts himself on tariffs. He says on one hand it will re industrialise America by on shoring, on the other hand he is also saying that America will become trillions of dollars from tariffs. It can’t be both.
