...to cut an awkward floorboards out in a corner.

Won't be used a great deal, so don't want to spend Megabucks.

What would you recommend?

Looked at Einhell but we bought an Einhell vac from Toolstation that was rubbish so I am a bit put off.

I’d say the brushless Milwaukee one, I’ve got one and it’s amazing. But not cheap!

My mate bought a cordless one from aldi I think. £30 ish, it does the job. But it’s very loud

i have a dewalt (cordless) and used a lot on DIY - almost used on every job i seem to do (so i have found the outlay has paid back a lot on the price - I got in a kit deal at screwfix many years ago now) - BUT a bit pricy - and i have already purchased into the dewalt 18V cordless system anyway
I would guess if you did not like Einhell - then chances are others maynot be that good for you

maybe if its only for the 1 job - titan screwfix £40 ish plus blades - but likely to be no better than a einhell , infact maybe the same thing , just different colours and branding in the manufacturers

My Einhell 18V mutitool is fine. Very pleased with it. Not as noisy as I feared (but ear protection is always advised with such tools).
Also pleased with my Einhell hedge trimmer and I now have a spare battery for it.

Without a budget / target spend or info on any battery system you have 'bought into' for compatibility you probably won't get sensible alternatives.

Lidl Parkside stuff has been adequate for me with drills and drivers, but you have to be lucky to have the tools in stock when you need them.

If it’s just for a one-off, why not get a cheap corded one?

yep, i think thats the one i have
I have 2Ah batteries (3ah and 5ah) - I pretty much use the 2Ah as its small and light - in fact the Kit i purchased came with 2x 2ah batteries
I dont know how long it lasted , and of course i just swapped out with the next battery anyway - but i seem to remember , i was not phased by the lenght of time - UNLIKE my angle grinder - which lasts about 10-15mins on a 5Ah battery (and i only have 1 of those) and was pretty annoying , when i cut a lot of 10mm coach bolts , making a fence

infact i think this is the kit i purchased - was about £120 on an offer

toolstation a bit cheaper

I bought a corded, Ferrex branded one from Aldi, it’s ok, does the job not great.

I used a mates Makita cordless one on site and it’s brilliant, quiet, not much vibration and cuts very fast - but it’s expensive.

I find the far biggest issue with multi tools is that they are a “get you out of the sh1t tool” so invariably used in situations where they hit nails, screws, concrete etc……and the blades get knackered in no time

Has anybody used one of these

I had an Erbauer (I think) corded one, on a job the electrician told me to use his battery Makita to save me going out to the van, so Impressed I bought one the next day. Not cheap but most of my other kit is Makita so I only had to buy the bare tool.

I have a Fein one and a stoopidly expensive Festool one (both corded). The only other brands I have used are the Ryobi One - absolute pants, it kept cutting out whilst trying to cut through MR chipboard, and the cheap corded Makita model from toolstation- that was very noisy and vibrated a lot (oh, and you had to use an allen key). I did purchase a Saxton branded oscillating saw for my stepfather, he was happy with it but it, like the makita vibrates a lot (and you can only use the blades with a slot along their body).

Cheers.

Have decided. I have ordered the DeWalt from TS, as it is cheaper and I have the batteries and charger already.

It is a bit more than I would have spent, but having read some reviews, I didn't fancy the dead cheap stuff.

I've got some birthday money in an account somewhere, I can use that.
