Need A Multitool...

Yes, that's the one. I'm not expecting miracles.

See how it goes.

No. any good?

Robin Clevett did a review on YouTube a while back. They sort of work, but you don't get a hardened edge like you would with a new blade.
Commenters suggested a triangular fine toothed file would do a similar job for a fraction of the price.

I bought 100 blades from eBay. Probably cheaper than the tool

We tend to buy the wood cutting blades...

As opposed to the 'cuts anything' blades.

They are more vulnerable when encountering nails etc, but boy do they deliver.

I got my CEL cordless well over 15 years ago after seeing it on Dragons Den.
It was only supposed to be to do one awkward job but it has proved invaluable so many times since then.
Its the sort of tool that will pay for itself so the price isnt such an issue.
My advice would be the dewalt as you already have the battery.
So long as you dont mind rewarding trump......
Bi metal blades are a bit more nail resistant and you can get them well priced on ebay amazon for very reasonable prices.
I find myself saving ruined ones to make custom shaped cutters to suit challenging jobs.

Aren't they a bit vicious on plasterboard?
Not really no. Cutting plasterboard (ceilings) is shoite no matter what blade.
Don't forget, you can also sand with it. Both my Dewalts came with a velcro sander attachment. Great bit of kit when hanging doors.

The half-moon blade is quite good for floorboards, it can cut a straightish line. The short ones I use more like a dagger.

If you hit a nail you can cut through it but may lose some teeth.

Saxton are a good source of blades, and have adaptors that can help you fit a Brand X blade into a Brand Y tool.

Places like Aldi sometimes have special offers on blades, but they might not fit.

Like HP printers, some brands tie you into using their own consumables

Imagine if you bought a toaster and it only worked with Morphy-Richards Brand bread.

Used it today. Fantastic!

I wanted to get three Cat 6 leads that were currently slung round the room, routed under the floor and up in the corner to the switch. We've got the vestige of a hot air system in the corner of the lounge, so the idea was to squeeze the cables in between the duct and the Paramount.

Rest assured that hole has not been cut with the socket box cutter from TS. It was instead cut some years ago by a blind idiot with a really blunt cheap PB saw.

Nothing yet.

Edit.

Perhaps I should have said "Used the multitool today. But not the PB cutter."

When I got my DW drill/ driver, it had 2x 1.5Ah batteries. Put one on charge today and it is completely brown bread.

Left it on for 4 hours now and nothing.

It's an 18V XR battery, DCB 181.

Can I buy any Ah value of 18V XR battery to use with the drill/ driver and multitool?

The charger is a DCB 113.
