War Crimes...

Watched an actual classified dvd of a mission to rescue a British hostage . Satellite and body cams . Yep the kills all there to be seen
Hostage crying /cuddling and thanking each and everyone for saving his life. Less than a week later back in this country he was on the news saying no need for killing and he would have been OK.

just think if bravo 2 zero mob had shot the kid they would have more than likely all got out alive .
Same as the navy seals in lone survivor . instead of killing the so called innocent civilian they let them live and paid for it with there lives
A child can kill you with a rifle just as easily as an adult can. No mention of the age of this child either I notice.

of course such actions are wrong and shouldnt happen
And the way to stop it happening is to bring the full weight of the law (International, domestic and military) down on the perpetrators, and pay recompense to the victims' families.
Sweeping it under the carpet, ignoring it, pretending it didn't happen, kicking it down the line, demonising the advocates for the innocent dead and their families only serves to perpetuate, excuse and justify it.

In Afghanistan Our soldiers faced endless booby traps by the Taliban, lots of soldiers saw their mates get blown up. I cant imagine living in constant fear at that sort of level

136 deaths and over 2000 injuries in Afghanistan
Why were we there?

My mate served in Afghanistan, his job was to recover the dead and injured British troops, he would find dismembered body parts in trees. Faced with situations like that it must be hard to keep calm and civilised.
Civilised people don't go to war, supposedly.
That's the aspiration of civilisation.

I'm guessing that the only times in the last 200 years that UK had little choice but to go to war was WW1 and WW2.
Many would argue that WW2 was a result of WW1.

I'm sure that historians could easily argue that prior to WW1, Europe was the instigator of violence in far flung places, and we are still suffering the repercussions of that violence.

It's no surprise many soldiers suffer a lifetime of mental health issues, which can destroy them and their families

Describe the possible outcome then

Yep kids can't kill what age

They could have lived and all made it to the border together everything that happened after the kid grassed them could/would have been so much different . instead of being in flight mode .

As simple as that, there were conflicting stories about the incident

Soldiers are there to serve their country and that means go where politicians send them.
A n excuse of following orders is no excuse.

Ultimately the responsibility for deaths on all sides in a conflict lie with the political leaders.
I agree, to a point. When the military hide the truth, politicians should shout loud and long when the truth comes out. But I suspect they are strong-armed to pipe down.

Russian kids would spy on German troop movements in WWII - any of 'em found with an assortment of seeds in their pockets was summarily executed. They used 'em to number troops, tanks, etc.

I fully support the armed forces. People that put their lives at risk to fight for this country should not have to face scrutiny years later. Many of them will be suffering from PTSD and mental health issues already, and likely be receiving little to no support. Immigrants have clogged up the NHS and are being treated like a protected species, leaving the British to fend for themselves. There's plenty of money it's just not going to the right places.

So you excuse any war crimes committed by UK troops?

What about when non-UK troops commit war crimes? Are they excused?

Not surprisingly. you've managed to shoe-horn a diatribe against immigrants into a thread about military committing war crimes.
