Who should still be treated like everyone else, whoever they are.
So you think someone whoever they are should be treated like everyone else. So someone committing acts of terror should have this right. Your idea of a good dressing down is very different to mine.

... and this point might be slightly contentious, I

In summary, if it's one of our own a crime is bad enough. If it's a perceived outsider, it can be considered even worse.
Yes, prejudice shows itself in many ways.

Didn't they do that for the Stockport stabbings?

After that there was reams of people saying that if they just identified the attacker then the far right race riots would have been avoided. The police think this approach will help avoid more far right rioting.

Exactly. The police are in a terrible position these days.

If the intel was in place that he was planning this then a big yes to that. Without hesitation.
He would have been stopped and arrested before he got anywhere near a crowd.
But hopefully in UK, an arrest would have been attempted not an assassination.

He wouldn’t get Akbar out. Swift and sure way of ridding these nut jobs. In the instance of committing terrorism not just in prayer before you start on that path.
If your suggestions were followed, he'd have been shot or drowned in the Channel.

Having seen some of the footage, it looks more like a driver that got their car into the wrong place, panicked and then tried to escape rather than a deliberate attempt to hurt as many people as possible using the car as a weapon.
That is my take on it too. Wonder how he got past the police lines in the first place.
