Hi all,
My Karcher K5 arrives this week. It has a 10m hose but I’m expecting it to be as crap as the shorter ones they supply.
Plus I want a 15m hose that won’t kink.
I’d prefer one that has the correct Karcher connections rather than having to buy connectors, but let’s see what’s available.
I’ve heard good news about uberflex and flexzilla, but they do cost a lot more.

Any recommendations appreciated.

I bought and mounted a permanent reel on my garage wall and leave the pressure washer hooked up so im able to just switch on and go.
Not that cheap but one of the best things i have done.
I usually buy my stuff here, they can be difficult to reach on the phone but do get back to you if you leave a message.

What is wrong with the karcher ones. I have not long ago brought a k2.

I used to have a K5- purchased about 20 years ago. I never had any problems with the lance hoses kinking. At the time, they were very rigid. Has the quality dropped?

I had and old k2 with the dirt blaster that was broken and also the black plastic hose covering under the flex reinforcing was split and I could see the white braided inner hose but it still worked fine. given that could fail at any time and i needed a new dirt blaster it was just as cheap to buy a whole new machine
The old hose was a screw on at the machine end but now the new versions are push in and then you push down a clip to hold it.
I always found with the screw on that during use the twisting of the hose tightens it so much i had to undo with some water pliers/ grips

My K4 had a 5m green hose, it was robust but kinked up at every chance and was simply not long enough. Replaced it for a 10m one which was loads better, but still kinks a bit and i'll be giving it away with the K4 for my son.
Karcher quality does seem to have gone downhill in the past few years, especially the hoses (plenty of online review about that).

My K5 had the screw connection at the body end. I soon discovered that it was virtually impossible to unscrew it if you didn't let the pressure out after turning it off. I have used a K2 with the push/twist connection, again, it was easier if you used the trigger to release the pressure after turning off.

I did lend the K5 to my stepfather. I forgot to tell him to use the trigger to release the pressure after it.

My K5 hose was black. It was so rigid that you could (probably drive ) over it without damaging it.

I do not doubt what you are saying, but it would have been extraordinarily extremely difficult to kink my Karcher hose.

That is exactly what I was thinking and its the same for my new k2 brought a few weeks ago.

This is the K4 Ecologique. So i guess the green hose was to indicate the green energy saving features (?)
Just googled it and found this picture - there is no way I could coil and wrap my hose like that. I think it must be softer and more flexible than the black which is very stiff - annoyingly so sometimes

Fair play. But I don't understand why that would be the case.

Edit, a quick google search shows the green hose. Sorry for doubting you.

Isn't that true of all pressure washers? Mine is on wheels, and include a hose-reel on the back of it, with a handle to crank the hose back on. You can only crank the hose, or unplug the lance, if the pressure is released first.

Seems to be 2 types of hose- mine is way too stiff to go on a reel,
