Hi I’m looking to install 4 down lights and 2 5amp sockets onto the existing lighting circuit in a small office room.

There is currently a 1gang 1way pendant fixture perm is being fed directly from rose to switch. On a loop in loop out. (3 plate)

I have replaced the 1gang for a 3 gang and pigtailed the perm into the other 2 commons.

And taken the brown(live) for the downlighting into L1, the 5 amp into the other L1 and wago’d the 2 neutrals in the back box

I’m getting power to the sockets but they aren’t working.

Any ideas?
I’ve attached a really crude drawing of what I’ve done/intend to do.

I’ve checked all terminals and nothings loose. Have I missed something

The neutrals in the connector block at the right hand side of your picture need to connect to the neutral feed.

will 3 core work though? It feels like the easier option while I have easy access to the ceiling rose and the room hasnt been plastered yet

The left cable is perm and switch live going to pendant and you can see the pigtail to the other commons

So by sounds I just need the feed neutral in the wago to complete the circuit

Could you live with your existing switch controlling your old light, and your new switch only controling the down lights and 2.5A sockets??

If yes.....
in the ceiling rise connect your blue wire to the blue neutral.wires ((left side).
And connect the other end of same blue wire into your connector (that needs a neutral connection) far right of your image. This blue wire is now your neutral wire.

And leave the brown wire untouched (connected to the premient live in the ceiling rose and to the commons in the new light switch). This brown wire is now permient live.

Old light switch will now control the ceiling rose.
Two of the New light switches will control the down lights and 2.5a sockets. (Later change this from a three to a two switch).

Yeah get some 3 core and earth in there while you can.

Alternative would have been a junction in the loft, but u have done the work now

This would have been my first choice but can’t get access to the loft at the moment. So I’ve had to take the feed straight from the rose. But thanks for the suggestion.

Appreciate all those with the useful comments. Will run the 3 core and if alls well. Will update

I don't know how good downlights are going to be in an office.

Personally I like 2 wall lights or uplighters. Could could run in 2 cables between light positions and the switch now, while the walls are bare, incase you change your mind later. Sounds like an easier way if you can't get access to above.

3core and earth down to switch did the job. Neutral completed the circuit.
Appreciate the advice
