Sky wifi not working on all devices and apps

So it appears I'm not the only one having these issues with sky wifi, he ended up cancelling his sky as it could not be resolved,
One person out of millions had a problem. Doesn't mean anything.

, I think it's the fact that the apps don't think my mobile is connected to the internet,
Go into the phone wifi settings, delete / forget all of the networks that are stored there, then connect to the Sky wifi again.

Have you tried turning off IPv6? I vaguely remember having to do something similar when I was with Virgin.

Most websites use IPv4 but there were concerns about IPv4 addresses running out so they signed off on IPv6- the latter use hexadecimal numbers, but then they worked out how to use smoke and mirrors to stick with IPv4

That is not a solution here or anywhere else.
Some years ago Virgin configured parts of their network to indicate that IPv6 support existed and so devices attempted to use it - however as Virgin are useless, they had not configured it to actually work, so any device trying to use it would fail.
In that one specific instance of incompetence, disabling IPv6 would fix a problem.

IPv4 addresses ran out 30+ years ago, which is why clunky bodges like NAT have been used extensively.
If people aren't using IPv6 today for most everything, then they need a new ISP.

Okay so I just tried turning off IPv6 in the hub, was able to connect to wifi but no internet so that didn't work.

I went back into the hub and re enabled the IPv6 and for some reason it then worked, I was able to connect to wifi and use the apps while connected.

I though wow that's weird but who cares now it's working, so I set up one of my alexas and it all went smoothly but then on trying to set up a second alexa it crashed, I'm now back to where I was before.

Why would it work for about ten minutes and then just crash again?

My servers in the USA still use IPv4, works for me.

Try turning it off, then rebooting the MODEM

BTW, I am only guessing.

Much of the nuts and bolts of DNS/IP that I had to learn years ago, I have forgotten.

Do you mean turn off the router and then turn back on or do you mean resetting it?

I think I have found the problem.

I decide to go back and start from scratch, unplugged everything from the router except the power supply, reset the router, only connect the ethernet cable from the ont into the router, all working great, set up all of the alexa and ring devices, able to use all apps on my mobile.

Then I thought i'd reconnect the rest of the set up one cable at a time to see if anything goes wrong, I connected the ethernet cable that goes to the gym which is basically a garden room, I have a second router in there which provides wifi for the gym and the garden, I went into the gym and connected to both available wifi connections, 2.4 and 5ghz. All good, went back into the house and auto connected to the home wifi, all bad, could not open the apps, etoro, duolingo, etsy seller.

Unplugged the gym cable from the router and all apps opened fine.

So it's when the supply to the second router is connected that the issues start, why would that be? There was never an issue before and I have had the second router set up for ages!
