Rupert Lowe.

This is more subjective. What does it mean to you. I don't mean a few Daily Mail headlines. I mean a proper, thoughtful explanation of what you mean by integrating into our way of life.
I like the cooking analogy. There are two broad schools of thought on integration.
Melting pot - You bring some of your culture and traditions but largely melt in to the local way of life, enhancing the flavour a little. Examples might be Italian-American Irish-American etc.
Salad bowl - You keep your ways but respect other's you don't impose your way if it is at odds with others. Too much cucumber will ruin the salad. The goal should not be to turn the tomatoes in to cucumber etc.

I like the melting pot approach.

When I live in Greece or France, I respect their way of life, I learn a little of the language, I greet the way they do, I eat what they eat, I make friends and get involved in activities.

As I understand it they decided to leave before the property was sold, so a technicality that was overtaken by events
after being told their tenancy would not be renewed or extended.

And the cucumbers should be deported?

I make friends

But you had to buy a book first :LOL::LOL::LOL:

My point was; she tried to make it look like she was doing a favour for a friend, when in actual fact she was just being a Jeremy Hunt.
Tenants can be friends, I don’t see how reflects badly on her when you look at the facts

Because she had decided to sell the house, not an eviction designed to ramp up the rent, lots of landlords test the market or get fed up with letting.

True. Just seen the rowers interviewed.
And they said, "it was "almost vigilante-style" how people followed them down the beach"...

All it took was a nutjob MP to get it wrong as usual, and the village idiots come a running!

These are the times we are living in.

Sounds like a great way of getting around the law her party are introducing.

In a way this ties in with something I've just seen on a tv prog. They were discussing whether or not it would be a good idea to introduce neighbourhood patrols, made up of locals, to assist in combating crime.

Now, on the surface, this seems like a great idea, a bit like mobile neighbourhood watch.

However, it's not a complete stretch to see how things could pretty quickly go wrong, depending on exactly who makes up the patrols. e.g. innocent brown person walking through a housing estate minding their own business, stopped and questioned by the would be coppers.

This is where the (intentional) use of inflammatory language by the right and the left is dangerous. It's lapped up and sometimes acted upon by the idiots and those intent on causing trouble with no real desire to see the issue resolved.

"English is widely spoken in Saudi Arabia although Arabic is the official language and spoken by the majority of the population.

English is widely spoken throughout the world, as a first, or second language, and is a popular language many are keen to learn.

I’ve never lived there. Never spent more than three weeks there at any one time. Many people have villas abroad but don't live there - why did you assume I did?

I spent a solid year, working on a contract in Italy. Mostly with Italians working with me, who spoke no English. I picked enough Italian up to get by, especially technical/engineering language, they were desperately keen to work with me, and learn English.
