20 Million on Benefits

A lot of these working class reform supporters are in for a big shock if Farage gets into no 10.

His associates believe in 'cutting waste' although they haven't defined what they mean by waste.

Weren't you one of the ones, moaning about reform having no policy for dealing with the illegal immigrants?

The problem with announcing what they will do, so soon, is that both of the opposition parties will make use of the same solution and try to run with them. Labour has already done this..

Many of those council owned homes, were simply a massive financial liability on the councils. They gave long term tenants of the council, with pride in their home, a chance to buy them, and relieve the councils of responsibility of expensive, on going, and inefficient maintenance. The councils could then better concentrate their finances where needed.

Had the above not happened, it would be a reasonable assumption that the UK's housing stock would be in even worse condition than it presently is. Private owners, take much better care of their investment, than tenants ever do, and usually at much less cost.
That could have been true, apart from the many obvious wrong points, if....

The money had been reinvested into new housing stock.

Don't blame councils for spending so much money on paying out rent to private landlords, at massive cost to us all, simply because they hjave no housing stock left to rent out.

In the UK, we have an economy, which is desperately short of workers. We import workers from around the world, to do the jobs which no one in the UK is willing to do. Instead, many UK born people, simply get away with sitting on their backsides, living on benefits, whilst the few go out to work, earn, and see their taxes frittered away on paying benefits to the perfectly able-bodied.
The few?

And yes, we do spend it on old people to keep them and you hale and healthy. You're welcome.

No, you didn't. You paid for your parents and grandparents. They got bugger all in comparison.
…and your parents and grand parents and those who want sex change operations and those who wanted to stay at home instead of working, those with 7 kids on benefits, bent MP’s, those who bought council houses at discounted rates, NHS cock ups that cost millions in compensation. Those are just some of the hard luck stories. Its not pensioners fault that technology has moved on and civilisation has progressed. In fact todays pensioners have contributed to that moving forward.

To think I spent 27 years defending the likes of you. Get real and stop having a go at those who have contributed, and continue to do so, and get onto those who contribute feck all and just want to take out.

Welcome to my ignore list.

Do you actually think that those on benefits are the biggest drain ?

You have to look at where the money is spent if so, and you won't like the answer

Does it really matter if Labour copy reforms plan to control illegal immigration.
If Farage has a plan that will work, why doesn't he tell the public about it.

I would have thought that solving the immigration problem would be more important than party politics.

Bowlux. They're all 'down with Thatch!' - yet taking advantage of her policies that they would or should be idealogically opposed to.

Just like that good socialist Tony Blair - the multi millionnaire property magnate and warmonger.

Or Diane Abacus sending her sprog to private school.

And you spout about others being conned by The Tories. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Your post ignores the point I made.

Labour is the government
Conervatives are the official opposition
Reform are a minor party with 5 MPs

By the way Reform don’t have any original solutions:

1) Making agreements with other countries: it was in Labour manifesto
2) Leave ECHR: was being pushed by Tories
3) put asylum seekers in camps -Tories tried that with old military base (NIMBYs stopped it)
4) push backs / tow boats back….rehashed Tory attempt from 2023
5) “deport 600,000” ….just nonsense

It’s amazing how people are taken in by Farage….can’t you see he just a snake oil salesman

Because then he'd be a real "man of the people", and really "love his country".

But he'd rather just look after himself, when all is said and done.

Just like his acolytes and supporters then (y)

He loves his country so much, that when he appeared at that Congressional hearing in America, he was wearing a GB news flag pin on his lapel rather than a Union flag pin which would have been more appropriate.

'Patriotism' the last refuge of the scoundrel ' as someone once said.
