Well done wind

Our whole civilisation is founded on fossil fuels.

Anyone got yesterday's wind figures?
Yes, thankfully we've moved on a bit, and still moving on, from caveman days.

But if you think that was the pinnacle of our achievements fair enough.

Which of these do you recognise?

How many had diesel engines?

Some of us have indeed moved on since then, some haven't, take you as an example. You haven't.

Lol lol lol nosey!

Did ye ken this one: our stupid governments' commitments to net zero means they are stopping extracting gas from our own North Sea, yet they are now buying gas from Norway, at much increased costs, FROM THE SAME SEA.
Im pretty sure youre makong that up. Have we shut down all UK cpntrolled gas wells? No, of course not.

If youre talking about new licenses for new wells that would be producing kn 15 years, thats not relevant to what gas we buy today.

I reckon that, given their heavily biased posts, JohnD is an investor in wind power, and ITPillock is employed in the wind power (or a similar) industry.

Says the man that keeps getting arrested.

Once may be unlucky, but 3 times?

And you claim you've moved on. The facts don't agree.

Your mask is slipping

Shackleton's 'Endurance' had a coal fired steam engine.
A recent article showed how Shakleton was forced to get the Endurance because it was cheaper than the bigger, stronger icebreakers of the time. Only £14k. He had doubts about the ships strength to cope with pack ice, and it turned out he was right. Still; there wouldn't be that epic trek across the Southern Ocean if he'd been able to afford a bigger boat.
