Well done wind

No I didn’t.

I’m merely pointing out that CCGT will remain part of the electricity generation for some time yet. Some people have a miss placed view that we won’t need it soon but the UK is in no position not to use CCGT
There are 1,000s of products that rely on the processing of oil and petroleum so it's not just fuel

Fossil fuels are the foundation of our civilisation.

Good to see wind is producing about a third of the nation's needs.

Have you got the yearly, rather than just the one-windy-night figures? Set against the cost of these things and the subsidies we all pay?

Don't be silly - he is just like the global warming fruitcakes that only come out when its a warmer than yesterday.

Only 32% wind just now.

Gas combined cycle 21%

Well done wind!

Today, about a third.

Good to see that around lunchtime, Solar was also producing over 10%. Pretty good for winter.

how long did that peak last for ? 10 minutes
you need to put up average for the past 7 o 28 days so as we get a balance of when the wind is not blowing or the sun is not shining

Solar has been good today, we (my own solar) has produced about 18kwh (which is aboyt two days worth.0
but last week was poor (or may be good for nov) produced 45wkh but used 90
compared to the summer when we would be using 60 and generating 250

Britain has one of the world’s most privatised energy systems. Private, for-profit companies control everything from generation to the grid to supply. Billions each year from billpayers to international shareholders. The energy networks and generation companies paid out £70.7bn in dividends since 2010. Private companies borrow at higher rates than the public sector, meaning we are paying over the odds for investment.

"One at all is one too many!" in some circumstances, but

"A decent proportion, getting there" is seen as not worth the bother in others.

Double standards? ;-)

Good day for Solar if you live in England or Wales. Now producing 15% of the nation's electricity.

Cold panels are more efficient than hot.
