Installing single gang in double knockout box

I have a set of switches installed on a double knockout box. I am looking to replace it with one of these. Unfortunately while this would cover the area, it needs to be installed on a 1 gang box. Is there any converter I can use to fix this, without needing to rip out the existing backbox, replacing with a single gang one and needing to make good?

Many thanks!

I've just looked at your link and read the installation requirements, which describe using single OR double back boxes, the important bit seems to be that the mounting screws are in a horizontal line (which most are) so does your backbox differ ?

Our double back boxes don't have screw positions in the middle like the orange ones pictured.
Section 6 of the installation instructions shows a metal plate that only fits a single box, but and it's a long shot, if your existing box has fixing positions at the top and bottom of the box as some old back boxes did you might be able to fit it. Post a pic of the box you want to fit to.
Edit, googling found this

expensive but DIY copyable..........

It's this:

Drill 2 holes 42mm apart in the back of the existing box, fix bracket with screws/plugs.
Careful measurement required to ensure bracket is level and centered both vertically and horizontally.

Looks like the panel is designed for continental back boxes with 60 mm fixing centres and 71 mm gang spacing. The bracket shown above should work though.

Many thanks all for your inputs.

Yes the one I have does have horizontal screw fixings but would be too far to use.

Yes this is the only one I could find as well. The issue with this is that the single box is centred and the Aquara unit has the back piece offset to the left. So unfortunately would not work.

This looks very useful, thank you! If I am understanding correctly, this is how it would be fixed? Existing blackbox in black and the adapter in red, with the two screw fixings.

Probably better make sure you've got neutrals before you get ahead of yourself.

Haha, that is a good point and thankfully I do have neutral here.

This is the existing back box

Interesting, with that mk won't have anywhere to readily connect the earth to? currently it's connected to the back of the switch.

I came across the ebay one, but I wanted the single gang offset to one side to fit the aqara unit over the existing space. Will message them and see if they can make something.
