Trump is suing the BBC for Ten Billion USD.

No win no fee law firms are more than a match for big business, as witness the cost of private US healthcare. No one has suggested the basic claim was a try on, but punitive compensation of the amount awarded was way over the top.
The injustice was the naming of the Stella Awards, after the case. Her case appeared trivial, but she suffered real damages and did not ask for unreasonable compensation. Some of the Awards named after her are truly bonkers. There is a case of a woman climbing a drain pipe to sneak in to a club without paying who slips and claims for injury, or the person who slipped on spilt water that she had just thrown over her husband in a restaurant.

Looking at the link, Trumpf must be up for several awards. He is suing for something that has enhanced his reputation, at least among his fangirls, and made no difference to the rest

If you read the points in the claim, they set out their arguments clearly. The Beeb are claiming no jurisdiction, IMO point 16 is a stretch and that is the beebs best hope. Of course any beeb employee corresponding in Florida, might hole that defence.

The full claim is here:

, it won't be missed.
the right wing populists, Tory and Reform want to control the media..........they already do control 90% of it

and Reform dominate social media -with thousands of accounts from russia and nigeria

the reason for the hate campaign against the BBC is they cant control it, same as channel 4

the ficko Reform supporters on here are too naive to see they are being subjected to a concerted propaganda campaign

Meanwhile, back on-topic... this lawsuit is from Donald Trump personally, seeking compensation for the harm the BBC caused him as an individual.

There's still a chance the US government could take action against the BBC and the UK government that runs it, for election interference as a foreign nation illegally meddling in the US. I hope so, it would be amusing.

Are all the resident doleys happy with their proposed free TV licence announced yesterday? Workers will be out working, paying tax so others can sit on their sofa and watch TV all day. More obvious evidence that Labour have just given up looking after the working classes and are now simply the party for scroungers.
