What have you been doing today?

Off to London.

Forgot to book my train tickets until Monday, at which point the trainline app marked the train I needed as 1 ticket left.

It's nearly empty..........

Some of the water based paints are very very good, I use Dulux diamond hard quick drying satin, used it on the campervan I did, not heard of your one but looks very impressive. Top job.
It's really good and easy for a clumsy git like me to use. They do other types of paint too. I first used it on our UPVC front door. I used their 'Al fresco' weatherproof chalk paint on it and 3 years later it still looks like a new door.

Took me 5 years to research it though…….

Went to Bollington this morning. Mrs S went to the gym, I had a bit of a walk, then we had breakfast in a cafe in the mill where her gym is. Clarence Mill.

Then we went for a bit more of a stroll down the tow path.

Saw a heron.

Stopped on the way back to do some shopping at Aldi.

Came home, had a break, then went out to Wythenshawe Park where a charity, Simply Biking runs a cycling for the disabled service round a running track. We have been there several times before.

So we did a bit of that then helped them pack up. I talked to the organiser at the end and asked if I could give him a donation. He said sure, and I explained my physical troubles and how I enjoyed being able to ride a trike off road. I said I wanted to contribute because I knew that it wasn't cheap to maintain the 30-odd bikes they have and buy parts, and I gave him £20.

He was absolutely choked up, bless him. He tried to give it back.

I didn't give him the money to make myself feel good, it was just a practical thing - you need money to service the bikes.

Anyway, he was well chuffed.

Took a picture of the mill chimney.

We waited a while, but didn't see it catch anything.

Been to visit a mate of Mrs Mottie who has moved from Essex to Suffolk. 150 mile round trip. Sold up their house in Grays and are currently in rented accommodation while their new house is being built just round the corner - won’t be ready for another 4 months. She took us to look at the show house on the small estate. Lovely 4 bed detached, en-suite, home office, dual aspect to most rooms, detached double garage, decent sized garden. Stamp duty paid, carpeted throughout and £5k to go towards appliances. Just over £400k! You’d be lucky to buy a 2 bed terrace for that round here. Mind you, the house is in the middle of nowhere, no local transport, no local shops apart from a petrol station type of shop, an 11 mile drive to their nearest supermarket and husband gave up his job of 18 years and now can’t find another one, she has only got a local NHS job until May but worse of all, they are miles away from their children and grandchildren. I couldn’t move away from my family just to get a nicer house.

I couldn't manage that.

I'd need somewhere close to shops and the doctor and on a bus route for other stuff, but that's as I don't drive.
