I think the wood planks at least, will get the thumbs up. I doubt recreational skiing hits the mark for essential travel though.

My disdain for politics and politicians, hasn't blunted over the years. And it still bores me witless. However, those that lie the least and those that possess the least personal greed, will be the ones to get maybe a raised eyebrow from me.
