My mum publicly said her new house was in a "better" area, and it was nearer to her work. She told me privately that she didn't like what was happening around her. Also she moved from a quiet street to a noisy main road, so arguably the new house was in a less pleasant location, as that was the best she could afford in this new more expensive location.
