What have you been doing today?

Let's have a picture of it after it's been tidied up.
Todays effort.

Are you going to put some flowers in there?
Yeah, bedding plants and shrubs this year and more spring bulbs for next year. It’s not just me that does it - I’ve got help from a few others down my road and there are three of those beds altogether. They used to be overgrown and people would chuck cans, bottles and bagged dog shìt on them. The council didn’t want to know so we just took over them ourselves. Makes the place look better and has cut out 95% of the rubbish being chucked on them.

My turn to wait for a call back from the doc. This bloody cough is getting worse and on top of that I’ve been up half the night with an earache. Probably an ear infection. Oh, and I’ve lost my sense of smell. I’m falling to bits!
It could be worse ...

I've had a cough for more than 2 years. The doc has sent me for X-rays and I've had antibiotics for an initial chest infection but the cough has persisted.

Mrs S noticed my Lisinopril had a coughing side effect, so I got the doc to change it and that made a noticeable difference (why the heck he didn't pick up on that in the first place I don't know)... But I still have the cough.

But good luck with it. I hope you get on top of it.

My cough has now gone but I’ve still got a partially blocked ear canal. It’s not wax as I had them microsuctioned but my right ear pops and cracks when I blow my nose. Doc said it's an after effect of the ear infection and I have fluid in my Eustachian tube (behind the eardrum) and that could take 6-8 weeks to clear. I can notice it getting better day by day.

One of the blood pressure tablets I was prescribed gave me a cough. Mrs Mottie 'diagnosed' the cause of my cough as her mum had a cough when she was on the same tablets. I told the doc, he put me on a different tablet and the cough stopped. I think it was Ramipril that gave me the cough.

Can we upgrade Mrs Mottie to Dr Mottie, you know she is alway right.

Andy
You may laugh but when Mrs Mottie worked for the NHS, she was a transcriber for the Gastro consultants. Did it for about 10 years. After the consultant had seen a patient they dictated the consultation which Mrs Mottie had to then listen to and type up. More often than not, as the doctor was dictating the symptoms and results of tests etc, Mrs Mottie would come to the same conclusion as the consultant before she got to the end. Sometimes though, it pays to not know too much as in the past when people we know have been talking about their symptoms in a general conversation, Mrs Mottie would afterwards say to me in private that that was not good and sadly on a couple of occasions she was right. :(
