Has anyone done this claim?

You need to ask them what their terms (costs) of business is. When I used a company for the diesel claim they took something like 40%.

Then, if it all goes t*ts up, they are known to come after you for costs. It happened to those suckered in to the cavity wall insulation claim.

The lad, had someone drive into him, when he was stood in traffic on his motorbike, he ended up in hospital. He got a call from an ambulance chaser, who offered free no win, no fee involved - claiming they would get there fee on top of the settlement. I took the phone, asked him to repeat what he'd said, and recorded it.

The claim was settled at £2500, and they wanted to take a substantial amount out of it for their fee, except I said no, I had agreed with them that they would claim their costs on top of the settlement. I won, they lost.

Martin Lewis did a piece on it in his last tv program, he mentioned lenders are obliged to contact those affected .
You should be able to watch again on catch-up or find it on YouTube.

OMG you have your cars on finance? Whats that like?
Its like driving expensive luxury cars that cost a lot of money to lay out in one hit and lose in depreciation, not talking 30k cars here. If I bought a car for myself I got Lena one too, could be a 100k in layout. No thanks.

A bit unsure of what to do, they contacted me over this in the beginning, I just thought it was all a con. They reckon I could get up to 20k accross my agreements
they dont mention if there is a cost or charge to"closing your account and transferring to another"
there could be a transfer charge
there could be a percentage off the reward from the new firms award payable
there could be an insurance policy cost as you havent let them sort it
they will be very happy to let someone else do the leg work iff they can still get something out off it

you need to ask several times iff there are any actual costs to leaving or iff there are any contract costs that will come later or on completion

you can bet leaving will not be cost free

Don't be so silly she's got a wash board and mangle
Let me know if you come accross another wash board as Lena needs a new one, luckily there is a stream at the bottom of our garden where we bath in the summer and she takes the washing down there in the summer.

Jeez you need to read the ts and cs, these firms can bankrupt you if you pull out. Are you within 14 days of starting the claim?

If you are within 14 days you can cancel for free, otherwise they will hit you with an invoice.

If you choose to cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, you may be liable for the legal costs and expenses incurred on your claim up to the date of cancellation.

  • If more substantial work has been carried out on your file, additional charges may be incurred. These are calculated based on the time recorded and services provided, which may include drafting and issuing a Letter of Claim, ongoing correspondence with third parties, providing client updates, and processing documents received.
  • A draft invoice will be issued for your review, outlining any applicable charges.
  • You’ll have 14 days to confirm whether you wish to proceed with cancellation or continue with your claim.
  • If you choose to continue with cancellation, a final invoice will be issued. Your claim will be closed once the outstanding balance has been paid.
This is how much they will take:

If you are within 14 days I would strongly advise you cancel, if not see it through, but they are the ones charging for the work, so you shouldn't be doing any chasing and cc-ing.

they will be taking up to £5k. Could be more if they process each claim separately.
So probably best to stick with them then, tbh I wouldnt have got anything unless the hadnt contacted me first
