I know this clip can be taken?

But its when no subject was taboo.

I do feel guilty at not feeling guilty about laughing at this. But it is funny.

Isnt this also taking the **** out of ourselves?

Definitely.

So, as we're on the subject, I'll point out the irony in the title of the thread ;-)

I thought Steptoe and son was very English, social aspirations of the son blocked by the father not wanting to let him go, blood is thicker than water etc. Never liked till death us do part, and didn’t buy the Beeb’s argument that it was poking fun at prejudice. Doubt they would use that argument now.

I dont buy anything what the BBC say apart from they think they are god as to what's right or wrong.

That said, it was generally Alf that got shot down, and Bill generally got the better of Eddie in Love thy neighbour.

Rowan Atkinson was just being your stereo type Tory in that clip. At least how the left stereo type anyone that does have the same glasses with rose tints.

I went to see Leo Kearse live on Friday. British Humour isn't dead, it's just not on the BBC any more.

He was selling "racist dog whistles" in the interval. Great bloke, in my version of reality he'd be prime minister.

hadn't heard of him, he's good.

He's not in any way funny, he's just a humourous racist. He reminds me of Jim Davidson at his worst. Jim can be funny and is a good entertainer but there has been times in his career where he's really scraped the barrel.

Never found the man funny.

I recently learned of a 1960s TV comedy called 'Me Mammy', starring Milo O'Shea and Yootha Joyce. Watch it on YouTube and you will see that 'Father Ted' and 'Mrs. Brown's Boys' lifted quite a lot of its ideas!
