What have you been doing today?

Job done, feet up, wine O'clock.

Just seen the BBC notification that the Artemis crew lost all communication with Earth for 40 mins.

I didn't know they were in Great Barr.
I've just seen that they have made a new record for humans being the furthest away from earth. They beat the previous record by 4,000 miles. Considering the old record was over 50 years old and they are now travelling at 25,000 miles per hour, it’s not something to really brag about, it it?What must it have taken, another 10 minutes give or take?

Puts into perspective, the fanciful delusion of some on here that we'll get anywhere in terms of space travel for decades, if not centuries or millennia.

Almost a fortnight to go 250000 miles.

Took up all the stairs and landing carpet and underlay, cleared out my garage, picked up some rubbish from the allotment and was going to take it to the tip when I saw that my sister had a big skip on her drive. Nobody was in so I fly-tipped it there. I wonder if she or her husband will notice?

Juggling hospital appointments. This coming week, I had a regular monthly kidney appointment on Friday, that needed the results of my blood, for which I had an appointment to have done yesterday at my GP's. The GP cancelled it, so now I will have to have it done tomorrow and await the results.

Monday, they are fitting me up with a 72 hour ECG monitor, Tuesday a dietician is ringing on a follow-up appointment.

Then yesterday, I had a call to say they wanted to do the dialysis catheter installation op, next Friday. Then they realised, they needed the result of the 72 hour ECG, and a scan, before they can decide if I am ok to use a general anaesthetic, or not. So that op appointment has been put back until May.

This morning, a call to offer the heart scan on Monday, next door to where my appointment is tomorrow, so I managed to persuade them to have that done tomorrow, whilst I would be there anyway.

Then yet another call this morning, to say they would pick me up, to get me to my appointment(s) tomorrow. They had originally said they would leave me to struggle, and find my own way in, because of cost-cutting.

Busy, busy, busy!

Had new carpet fitted in Bedroom 2, landing and stairs. Coming back tomorrow to do bedroom 1 and 3. Spent all afternoon moving the entire contents of those bedrooms into bedroom 2. Everything and I do mean everything has been moved other than the bed. Stripping that down and moving it tomorrow morning then taking up the old carpet before the fitters turn up. I never knew we had so much sh*t in those rooms. Will need a bloody good sort out before we put it all back.

Yep. Three big bags full and I’ve got more fitters coming today. Luckily I have to go to the tip to dispose of my old carpet so I’ll take them plus today’s off cuts with me.
