Why's Starmer still the PM?

Is

Isn't it strange that I like a black woman who you would accuse me of hating.

Yet you dont like her because she doesn't think like you.

The fact shes black and blue and doesn't think like you, really messes you up.

I want to like her but she's bloody useless, and so is most of the shadow cabinet. Thatcher would be ashamed of today's Conservative party.

Unfortunately she hasn't had a chance.

Labour on the other hand accuse the Torys of Every ism under the bright round thing in the sky.

Yet have never had a woman or anything other than gammon running the country or their party. Now we have two more Gammons putting them selfs up fir leadership.

Because the Tories were not elected to government. To be fair she wasn't the leader of the party responsible for all the faux pas.

Such as?

In the last 15 years, Tories were in government for 14 years, (and 5 PMs), and Labour were in power for nearly 2 years, (and 1 PM).
And it's all the fault of Starmer?

I can't understand it. Previously we were told that if 81 MPs put their names down then Starmer would be up for election. Last time I checked there were about 90, yet he's saying he's going nowhere.

What's happening? Is he ignoring the Labour party rules?
It’s all Burnam spin and strategy with the Daily Fail stirring the pot. He’s got to win the by election first. I suspect we might even see a coronation rather than a battle if Wez and Ange gets offered a juicy post.

Burnham has waited for an opportunity to make his Westminster return but i fear his timing is awry: 'reform' have more than a chance of taking the seat and the question then is, what's to do?

Burnham his misjudged massively, he believed his own "King of the North" bullpoo marketing. Bizarrely, his campaign in Makerfield is going to be unofficially that if you hate Starmer then vote Labour to get rid of him. All very weird and negative, but that's as good as it gets.

Meanwhile, Reform is actually promising to take action on immigration and many other wrongs and actually has a plan. They got 31% against 45% in 2024, that was before Starmer as PM and at least three quarters of the country utterly hating the lot of them.

Burnham will head back to Manchester to serve the remainder of his term as mayor under a cloud.

Meanwhile the anti-Starmer campaign within the Labour party has now got to a point where he will be pushed out, so they'll end up with one of the awful also-rans being plugged into the PM job. The bond markets will erupt, the Labour party will consume itself in arguments at the reality of needing to cut public spending, hopefully things will get so bad that an early general election will be the outcome, and we can get rid of this hopeless bunch of idealist idiots and get a competent government.

Wes or Angie would be obliged to take a shot. But I don't think they'd win. So if Andy does not win the by-election, it'll be a big win for Starmer.

I didn't realise that Andy had won the by-election and the campaign for Leader had started.

Which poll are you using? It looks wildly inaccurate to me.

He's made of sterner stuff. He'd already suffered a setback when he couldn't contest another seat. He put that behind him and came back smiling.

I'll explain the obvious for the hard-of-thinking then...

Burnham's supporters are suggesting that Starmer's unpopularity could be presented to the people of Makerfield as a reason for them to vote Labour. If you hate Starmer then vote Labour and you'll get Burnham as PM. If you vote Reform then you may end up with more Starmer for longer.

It's an interesting but bizarre argument. That the party leader's unpopularity could be mangled into a reason to vote for his party.

They're offering a choice between a punch in the stomach or a kick in the groin. Offering Burnham as the cure for the disease they caused is unlikely to create much enthusiasm.
