What have you been doing today?

I dropped my FJR paddling it backwards off my drive a bit too quickly. Turned too early, missed the slope and dropped off the edge of the kerb. It was a heavy bugger and once it got to about 25° off of upright, I couldn’t hold it so I jumped ship! Couldn’t lift it on my own, had to get my neighbours son to help me lift it up. Only about £2k's worth of damage.

@Mottie

Mate of mine aged 11 decided to take his dads honda 400cc I think it was for a spin one school dinner time. Junior school if I remember correctly.
Dropped it.
After two attempts and a rest he got it back up and rode it home.
He kept the helmet on so nobody noticed he was younger.
Never returned to school that afternoon as he polished and painted the bike.
Surprisingly he got away with it and the school teacher never noticed his absence.
Amazing what skills we can conjure up when there's a big beat coming if we don't.

He showed me the damage one day and it stood out if you knew where it was.
Never got caught

I had a bmw 1250 GS and got sick of trying to get it out of my garage and dropped it a couple of times. With this I could honestly spin it around facing the opposit way I rode in by using only two fingers
We rented some of them a few years ago. If you have the time, you can have a quick read up on our trip on them. Start from here.
In Spain today. We were picked up and taken to our hotel to settle in after filling in all the paperwork for the bikes we’re hiring. We’re getting 1250 GS BMW’s.

We were taken out tonight for a cracking
steak meal and a few glasses of wine and now we’re back in the hotel settling in. There are five of us and each of us have got a three bed hotel room to ourselves so I don’t have to put up with my roomies snoring this time! Apparently we have our own individual rooms for every night of the trip.

Being picked up early tomorrow morning to go and collect the bikes and then we’re straight off for our first day up in the mountains. Apparently we’re staying in some kind of cave hotel up in the mountains tomorrow night.

That’s enough for now I’m tired and I wanna go to bed. Night night XX

Torque my man, torque. Pure torque, torque & nothing but the torque.

Have you ever enjoyed the pure joy of throwing your leg over ???? I think not.

I’ve owned a couple of Harleys

2003 1200 sportster SS apparently the best sportster they had made hmmm it was Harley’s 100 year anniversary model

Than I traded that in for a dyna glide some thing if I recall it was a 15 or 1600 cc ????

Both came from Fred Warrs in Chelsea

Got a 1971 750 Norton commando it’s parked in my spare bedroom ( needs sorting )

Took a hike to Malham Cove and weather was beautiful.

I’ll make an attempt to recover from addiction again very soon

Walked into it again after 6 months sober

Ive never been a heavy drinker, yet I think alcohol has been the missing link in my life.

You dont have to have a drink problem to have a drink problem.

Typical week for me would be pop in the Pub or just have a pint at home 2 - 4 times a week.

Friday night could be 2 or 3. On the odd occasion 5. That would have me drunk.

3 on a Friday night, would impact my weekend. That would then have a knock on effect for Monday. A crap monday may require a beer after work to relax me. Thats when the spiral happens again. It feels good. Get to Friday and 3 beers feels deserved. Its a bit like ground hog day.

Ive been off the beer for 17 weeks now.
I never planned this nor have I any intention of not drinking again. But I like it. Its a better kick than beer.

Im taking my Girls to Montenegro next month. All inclusive 4 ☆, I will have a drink. Im wondering how it will pan out after.
