BBC Tax for all

Have fallen correct. I doubt anyone is shocked. 22 million or so still paying. That’s a heck of a lot of people that still want and pay for BBC content.
They are happy to keep funding it. Just as people are free to subscribe to Disney+.

Would you be happy to pay for Disney+ without using it?

Your statement is nonsense as per.
I'd bet that a minority of those paying the TV licence actually "want" BBC content.

Many think you must have one if you own a TV (wrong).
Many pay it because they want to watch TV on live channels, the TV licence is required to do this, even though they may not watch the BBC most of the time.
Many think they'll have people knocking on their door and threatening them if they don't pay (as, shockingly, actually happens in our weird little country), so do so out of fear.
Many think you just need one to listen to the radio
Many just think it's a compulsory household tax.
Many just can't be bothered to stop, it's paid by direct debit so it's not worth the effort to stop.

300,000 cancelled the previous year, 500,000 last year, hopefully we'll get a million cancellations this year. To hell with the leaching vermin.

I've got a big fat grand in my bank account that would be in the beeb's champagne fund if I hadn't cancelled 6 years ago.

Everyone who pays by direct debit is 6 months in credit. If you cancel tomorrow then they'll send you a refund of this. You get paid £90 for a two-minute phone call, and make the world a better and fairer place.

Yes, lots of people think they are required to have one because they own a TV or simply they haven't cancelled the direct debit.

I moved house, was doing a big renovation and didn't buy a TV for a while. Almost immediately I got the threatening letters. So when I did get one, I decided to see how long I could survive without consuming licensable content. turns out its been years.

Rousing speech. I bet the RWR are all weepy.

It wont affect the 22 million coughing up though boyo.

I do the declaration every two years. It doesn't take long, and stops their disgusting "we're sending the boys round" toxic letters fear campaign. I don't see why they can't be prosecuted under some law or other for the appalling letters they send out - surely they infringe human rights or decency in some way.

This stinking government is currently about to require all platforms including the likes of YouTube to prioritise BBC news and content above all else. This is North Korean level madness.

Cancel the TV licence, get £90 back, save £15 a month and fight back against communism.

I did it once but since I am under no obligation to, I don’t.

It’s harassment fairly clearly but they would argue legitimate interest. It would take someone to bring a claim to properly test it.

Wasn't the whole "detector vans" a lie and a con just designed by the government to scare people into paying. Bit like covid and climate tax
