Yep, I guess that's how/why it has happened - and our government (and probably other governments) seems to have bought into it ('been taken in by it') as wellI suppose anything that sounds exciting sells more products LOL even if it`s all lies![]()

Do you mean that he fitted an isolator and new CU at the time a 'smart' meter was fitted? If so, how dis that work logistically - did the " 'smart' meter fitting" perhps involve two visits from the fitter, or did your son do something 'naughty'?My son fitted an isolator when fitting a new consumer unit before we had a smart meter, the British Gas smart meter fitter, used the isolator, and did a very neat job.

That is most likely, but there were no seals until smart meter fitted, so would not know.'naughty'?

These cutout seals do seem very prone to accidental damageI fitted one when my fuse fell out of the cutout after I'd been a bit overenthusiastic with the feather duster, the seal was long gone.

Ya I use the term AI because that's the term in general useAs I always say, when I see anything done by a computer being called"AI" these days, I think that's all wrong - since I'm far from convinced that there is any true "I" (at least, in a sense I would understand that) in anything currently being called "AI".
However, I very much doubt that that response was produced directly by a human being 'writing it from scratch' in a conventional sense- it looks very 'robotic' and, I would have thought, at most some 'point and click boilerplate work'!
I can only remember such details in relation to my last two house purchases (not the least because that covers about 50 yearsI have been to jobs (Rewires example) and yes seals were already missing so I informed owners then rang the suppliers, they wera always ok then, Often I`d completed the rewire before they attended to reseal, .... But yes quite often they were already missing, often I "suspected" a past Electrician had taken the easy option but I few times I suspected a past owner ....
Fair enough. I probably do the same at times, when not 'thinking'. However, when writing I try to remember always to put'AI' n quotes (just as I always try to remember to do with the 'smart' of 'smart' meters, which I think has the same problem)Ya I use the term AI because that's the term in general use ... Doesn't mean I believe it's been generated intelligently
There's all sorts of things that he might/could have said about that (although he probably should have been talking about pseudo-random numbersSpeaking of which it reminds of my old lecturer talking about random numbers in relation to computing.
