Could you then show us where is it is mentioned that the person who is alleged to have murdered ann widdecombe is a green party member?

And whilst you are about it, maybe you could also condemn those who are 'easily led' by a politician calling for a 'cold rage' on the streets...

You appear to want to call out intolerable acts/posts only when it is enacted by the side that you oppose...

Reasonable people can see when the line has been crossed by whatever political side, and condemn it regardless! ;)

Haven't heard any mention of the Green Party but 'Hope not Hate' were quick to delete a lot of material from their website.
 
It's remarkable how the usual blinkered few on this forum find this Guardian cartoon hilarious without stopping to consider the timing.
Ann Widdecombe had only recently been brutally murdered, and police were investigating whether there was a political motive. Against that backdrop, mocking Nigel Farage for objecting to violent imagery aimed at him isn't brave satire, and it does demonstrate a darker undertone.

The Guardian is perfectly entitled to publish political cartoons. Freedom of the press includes the freedom to offend, i get that. But legality isn't the same as decency. Publishing a cartoon that ridicules concerns about violent political imagery so soon after a real political killing risks trivialising the climate that all politicians now face, i think a point Highway Man was making about people getting upset and 'over excited' by them.

I can't help wondering whether the reaction would be the same if the roles were reversed.
If a prominent left-wing politician had just been murdered and a right-leaning newspaper published a cartoon mocking colleagues for objecting to execution imagery, I suspect there would be widespread outrage, i for one would raise my hand and call it out, no matter the political position. Whereas some people on this forum have a football fan mentality mindset, they have been programmed to see them as 'the enemy' no matter what they say, they share the same references and derogatory terms just like a football fan see's the opposition in a football match, it's Neanderthal, its like they are the same person?

Behind every politician is a real person with a family, friends and a life beyond politics. We don't have to agree with someone's politics to recognise that. Treating violence or the fear of it as a punchline, particularly so soon after a real killing, is something we should all be better than.
