lighting adapter to 3 pin plug

Are you sure that the sockets you have are actually BS546 5-amp types? Switched lighting outlets are more commonly the much smaller 2-amp variety.

As for the non-sleeved pins on older BS1363-BS546 adapters, it's hardly a big deal. Thousands of BS1363 plugs with non-sleeved pins are still in use quite safely.

If we designed a circuit in a domestic property and decided that all of the points would be either BS 546 15A sockets would we design as a ring final or a radial and what would we fuse the circuit at (or MCB size it) and would we limit the number of points and/or the area seved by such a circuit?

Indeed ask the same question of a 3A or 2A setup and would we be tempted to mix which socket amperages might be found on any circuit?

Well we always did before BS1363/ring finals became popular.

Radial or ring shouldn't matter , preferably radial

MCB protects cable

Area or number of outlets , there's a lot of variables with that. It's set to try and avoid overload
 
Presumably, the 5 amp lighting sockets are either on the lighting circuit or have a 5 amp fused position on the consumer unit. (As there is no fuse in the round pin plugs).

And no fuse in the consumer unit either! Otherwise it would be called a fuseboard.!
Most likely a 6amp MCB, rcbo, etc....
