Here's an interesting video about the concept...

It's definitely biased, but I'd challenge anyone to point out anything that's incorrect about it. The East vs West Berlin case is a very good example of a real-world experiment where the two systems have been put side by side. They needed a bloody great wall and machine guns to persuade those subjected to socialism to stay in there.

The truth is that lots of people like the idea of socialism. Until they experience it, then they find out it's utterly terrible in every way.

It's a good job that nobody on here supports socialism.

Or have they dumped the toxic S-word now? Is it now Burnhamism?

It doesn't matter what particular flavour of leftyism, it always turns out terribly for everyone. Make everyone equally poor except themselves.

It's all a continuum anyway - social democracy, socialism, communism. They invent a new word every time the public work out it's terrible. The basis of Labour's Fabian Society is that they bluff their way into power then gradually creep towards communism hopefully without anyone noticing that they didn't vote for it. Then they start murdering people they don't like.
