Looking at the depth of the jaw throat, Id say it was used for tightening square nuts, i.e railway issue.

I used a Spazzle for the first time today. It worked absolutely great. Brand new, made in Wigan. Proper solid metal with a wooden handle.

One of those things where you don't need tuition, you pick it up and it tells you how to use it. You use it to agitate concrete. Vastly superior to a plank or float, it's effortless to use and really pumps the stuff. Then you can use it to spread and level too.

Yes rail nuts were and still are square used in high vibration situations and for strength. Steam fittings had the same type of nuts for strength too. Rail tracks still have them to this day.

Looks gimmicky, whats wrong with the back end of a wide rake, a shovel or an old fashioned plank.
