There is a whole host of text out there. I have been using Book 1 & 2 for NVQ as reccomended by JTL. i think it is called Electrical Installation about £20 each.

Buy an onsite guide if the college don't give you one.

Then find a book you like, the college should be suggesting good text to you

Best of luck, I've had a great time, completed level 2 last year in 9 months and intend to finish level 3 this year

thanks very much for that have been recommended electrical instillation by college but was told by somebody that it wasnt too great as far as understanding wiring , two ways etc etc will give it a go if anyone else has good books please reply

Above book is great as it reflects the course. At the beginning it tells you what chapters you need for the various units of level 2 and level 3.

Get electrical calulations 1 and 2. Straight to the point. Just the formulars you need and explation of their use without the waffle.

Also get your self an on site guide. Although hold off until 17th edition version is released.

What you will find is some books are good in different areas. Sometimes one author makes things more clearer than another.

Further down the line the above book is very good at explaining what is needed in reality.

If you want a taster of this then go onto the TLC direct website and trawl through these various pages. http://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Book/8.1.2.htm

By the way I bought most of these types of books from PLAY trade (2nd hand) EBAY is good too. The ones I bought came from a newly qualified lift engineer who had no need for them further.

Good Luck!
