you can complain to the police and they can ticket it as it`s causing an obstruction to " your " right to park there, its a myth that anyone can park anywhere at any time

Police reply was as long as the vehicle is taxed and insured then the guy has as much right as anyone else to park there. It is parked outside his own home.

How far is he parked from the corner on the road ? If i recall, it's either 15 foot or 15 yds, think it's feet, less than that is/ was illegal.

I think about 10m but the police clearly have no objection to that. However, as I mentioned above, I have just bought a hightop transit van.

Someone used to park opposite me blocking my garage & he would always move it if I asked him to. But the next day it was always back again. He left it unlocked one day so I moved it for him, the steering lock broke off unfortunately when I turned the wheel (I thought it was a bit stiff). He didn’t park there again & never said anything to me!!

To prevent it being classed as a permanent fixture, ( who on earth gave him that idea?), the van owner moved his vehicle this morning intending to return it in an hour. When he returns, he will find that it has been replaced by a ford hightop transit van lwb, with 8 months road tax, an MOT and fully insured. I wish that I could be there when he returns but I'm working today.

so the poor guy has just left his van taxed and insured outside his house, granted it may be a slight inconvienience to a cpl of people, but he is actually doing nothing wrong at all, how do you know its not been moved in the day on the odd occasion? have you got a neighbourhood "van watch" just to check it hasnt, and as for parking your van in the spot where it is, surely then you become the problem that your complaining about in the first place?
