Ive stopped quite a few "engineers" from turning off major factorys/consumers and even whole villiages due to them not knowing exactly what they are doing, Even, stopped a so called "engineer" from re-energising an 11kv Overhead line circuit WHILST THE LINESMAN WERE STILL WORKING ON IT, I dont know about the domestic and commercial game that most of you chaps on here seem to specialize in, but on the power distribution side of things, the tendency is to promote people with little or no experience of actually working on the system to positions way above their station, They may have all the qualifications, but no actual experience of how systems work and operate............which at any level of the Electricity industry is DANGEROUS, so as you fellows have posted on here, it pays to watch your back!!!
Thats contract engineers for you... not long before I got made redundant from the electricity board I saw exactly the same thing and had to step in. Showing them a schematic diagram was the worst bit as they didnt understand a thing!
