Ideal

We have a new Minimiser and offered this as a cheap install to replace the same boiler.

I asked Ideal if they would still give the warrantee on this boiler. They said NO !!!

Tony

Pity you did not mention my case!

If they have confidence in their products then you would expect them to be happy to operate the warranty!

Perhaps someone from Ideal could explain their views?

Tony

Baxi aren't taking on in Cornwall at the moment, still awaiting to hear from Worcester, who according to one of their engineers is taking on in Cornwall. Also applied to the British Antarctic Survey, they require plumbers/heating engineers. Any other companies/ideas greatly fully recieved :D

During the interview they banged on about how they like customer care etc, can't see why they wouldn't warrantee it, as it's new.

I'm also looking for any Installer vacancies in Scotland if anyone cares  checked out British Antartic Survey website.......23 grand a year for freezing yer nuts of in minus 40....erm no thanks :?

If a boiler or part is replaced under warranty, it will only benefit from the remainder of the warranty period and not start with a new warranty. That is standard procedure in our and many other industrys.

Told bt Ideal yesterday that any chargeable repair they do is only warranted for 30 days, including parts

Can't see how they would get away with that.

A part that fails after 31 days is not "fit for purpose" in my world.

My thoughts exactly, but they didn't seem to think so. My customer was told that as it was over 30 days they would have to pay the £180 again before they would come out.

I'm trying to get this sorted as a goodwill gesture for them.

One of their good engineers is Dave Kemp.
Thank heavens THAT WOMAN who used to be on the tech lines seems to have gone!

What if the heating breaks down

Use initiative blow torch, research papers and any wooden furniture available

Actually sounds like I could be busy with repairs and peeved Ideal owners, easy enough to sort both out, I think :)

I dont see how your reply relates to Ideal not being prepared to give a warranty on a new boiler?
