is there any secret when joining tap connectors to taps,i always ensure fibre washer is dry and also us a bit of boss white on the washer,but i still struggle to get them to seal.also where they join toilet cistern inlets it states not to use any compound,is there a trick when doing these,cheers in advance.

Give fibre washer a short soak and dont over tighten.

I tend to use only the washer supplied witht the fitting as some washers are a better fit than others.
PTFE on threads in this situation= no use at all,watertight seal made by washer!
